In the frame of the MYRRHA project we are looking for a design engineer (m/f) (temporary) for the Advanced Nuclear Systems institute, expert group Reactor Technology Design.
As a design engineer within the Central design Team (CDT):
- familiarize yourself with the current design status;
- contribute to the development of the current design in co-operation with other draughtsmen and engineers, provide feedback to the other members of the design team;
- ensure compatibility of the design with the results of the current R&D programmes (eg. material and fuel studies);
- take account of the other aspects of the project which may have implications on the design such as accelerator, neutronics, thermohydraulics, spallation source, instrumentation and control, nuclear and industrial safety of the installation.
- Master's degree in engineering science (civil engineer), mechanics or electromechanics specialization;
- additional knowledge of nuclear science and applications is a bonus;
- practical experience in both designing and commissioning of large installations is a bonus;
- experience with thermo-hydraulic calculations;
- good knowledge of materials (steel, refractory metals, …);
- knowledge and experience with industrial design codes such as ASME, RCC-MR;
- good communication skills in order to work in an international and multidisciplinary team;
- good knowledge of general office software applications;
- fluency in English; be prepared to follow basic courses in French and Dutch.
Duration:
temporary contract up to 31st December, 2014 inclusive
