MYRRHA - Temporary scientific collaborator (M/F)

In the frame of the MYRRHA project we are looking for a temporary scientific collaborator (m/f) for the Advanced Nuclear Systems institute, expert group Reactor Technology Design:

• Participate in the R&D activities of the international accelerator collaboration;
• coordinate the tasks taken up by the SCK•CEN in the international collaboration;
• (co-)lead the accelerator R&D programme of the SCK•CEN and deal with the bilateral agreements which support it;
• at a later stage design experiments and machine studies;
• (co-)manage the setting up and the daily working of the accelerator group;
• prepare for, and later execute, the managing tasks related to the central role of the SCK•CEN in the realisation of the MYRRHA accelerator, more specifically the coordination, integration, procurement, construction, licensing, commissioning and operation.

• PhD in physics or engineering;
• fundamental and general knowledge on accelerator physics and accelerator technology;
• practical experience in the fields of accelerator (component) design, testing and measurements, installation, commissioning, operation and control;
• experience with proton/ion linacs, accelerator project management and/or European Framework Program projects would be an asset;
• good communication skills in order to be able to work in an international and multidisciplinary team;
• good knowledge of general office software applications;
• fluency in English; be prepared to follow basic courses in Dutch and French.
