SCK•CEN hands over a stress test progress report to the FANC/AFCN (Federal Agency for Nuclear Control)

Within the framework of the realization of the stress tests, the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre handed over a progress report on this subject to the FANC/AFCN on December 15, 2011.

Belgium has decided to extend the European agreements on the tests of nuclear power plants to all operational class I installations. Some of the SCK•CEN installations are also involved.

In accordance with the FANC/AFCN specifications, SCK•CEN wrote a first progress report regarding these tests. This document provides a detailed overview of the procedures proposed by SCK•CEN. These procedures are in conformity with European and Belgian guidelines. As a result, this report contains no conclusion.

The due date for SCK•CEN to hand over the final report to the national safety authorities is June 30, 2012.
